Before we ever helped creators publish cookbooks, we were creators ourselves.
It started with a small cooking channel
About 10 years ago my wife and I started a small cooking channel to share our favorite recipes. Our videos weren't exactly award-winning productions, but the food? We can promise you that was good.
Like many creators, we started out doing it for the love of it. We spent our evenings and weekends filming and cooking. We shared our recipes with a small community that kept coming back and grew our channel little by little. During the day, we worked our regular 9-to-5 jobs.
The cookbook we never had time for
For years, we dreamed of publishing our own cookbook. We imagined bringing all our favorite recipes together in one place, something our viewers could keep in their kitchens and come back to whenever they wanted.
But there was always something in the way. We had jobs to do, videos to make, and never quite enough time to take on another big project.
And honestly, we weren't sure it would be worth it. Our channel was small. Could a channel our size really sell a cookbook? Would enough people actually buy one?
So we kept putting it off.
Then we finally took the leap
After years of creating videos alongside our full-time jobs, we wanted to see whether our passion project could become something more. Publishing a cookbook was our way of finding out.
What happened next changed the way we looked at being a creator.
We discovered that our audience wanted more than just another video. They wanted something they could keep, use, and return to. And by turning something we had already spent years creating into a product of our own, we opened up an entirely new opportunity.
It wasn't just about the money. It was about realizing that even a small channel could build something valuable beyond its views.
We wished we'd done it years earlier.
That's why we started Below the Video
Today, we still love cooking. But we've traded our 9-to-5 jobs for something we care about just as much: helping other creators turn what they know and love into products of their own.
Because we know what it's like to have a great idea for a cookbook but no time to write it. To wonder whether your audience is big enough to buy it. To have years of recipes, knowledge, and ideas that deserve to be more than content that disappears into a feed.
You shouldn't need a huge audience, a publishing deal, or months of spare time to create something of your own.
We help creators turn their ideas into professionally made digital products, starting with cookbooks, so they can focus on what they do best: creating.
You bring the passion. We'll help you turn it into something you can sell.
Because sometimes, the best opportunities are the ones you've been putting off for years.
